Grand opening of our new chapel and music block

A New Chapter

The new Chapel and Music Block were officially blessed and dedicated by Bishop Peter, from the Roman Catholic Diocese of East Anglia and Bishop Sam, the Anglican Bishop of Stockport, on Wednesday 17th September. 

Chaplaincy reps, musicians and senior students attended the service, along with governors and visitors.  Bishop Sam was himself a student at St Bede’s and it was during his time here that the school became an Inter-Church school.  As he expressed hopes for the future, he shared memories from the past and helped us to reflect more deeply on the enduring symbols of our school identity in our badge and motto.

Both bishops sprinkled our new buildings (and the people within!) with holy water as they prayed for God’s blessing on these facilities and the learning and discipleship which will take place within them.
