Business Studies

Business Studies is an optional subject at Key Stage 4. It aims to give students an understanding of how businesses operates, including communication and finance.

Students are currently studying for the EdExcel GCSE (Double Award) in Applied Business Studies. This means that students gain two GCSE’s at the end of their studies. Students complete two portfolios (People and Business and Investigating a Business) each worth 1/3 of the marks. They also sit an external exam on Business Finance which is worth 1/3 of their total marks.

Specialised pupil equipment required:

All students are expected to bring a minimum of pencil, pen, ruler, calculator and their folder and textbook to every lesson.
