To encourage teamwork, we encourage all students to take part in competitive sporting events. Good sportsmanship – coping with success and failure – is important to sports teaching at St Bede’s.
St Bede’s offers a range of team and individual sports, with fixtures usually held on weekday afternoons. There are school teams for football, rugby, hockey, netball, basketball, cricket, tennis, badminton, rounders and athletics.
We practise equal opportunities in sport. Team members are chosen from those who work hard in lessons and attend after-school clubs. However, students who face transport difficulties will not lose team places due to missed practices.
In recent years we have had great success in rugby, football, basketball, netball, hockey and athletics.
