Catch-up Premium

In June 2020 the government announced £1 billion of funding to support children and young people to catch up on missed learning caused by coronavirus (COVID19). This is especially important for the most vulnerable pupils and pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds who we know have been most affected.

While schools can use their funding in a way that suits their cohort and circumstances, they are expected to use this funding for specific activities which will help pupils catch up on missed learning.

High quality teaching is and has always been our top priority at St Bede's. This, together with targeted academic support, accounts for the majority of the funding we have received.

The approaches we have adopted at St Bede's have been informed by the best available evidence (see link to the Education Endowment Foundation; Teaching and Learning Toolkit), together with our experience of what works best for our students and for our community as a whole.

Please follow this link to see how we are using this funding to help our pupils catch up on any missed learning at St Bede's.

Covid-19 Testing at home for students without symptoms

Please make sure your child tests themselves twice a week,  3-5 days apart, ideally in the morning before school but if not, the evening before.

This does not replace testing for those with symptoms and in this case self-isolation and PCR testing is an essential requirement.

As per previous guidance, reporting results on both the following sites will enable both school and the government to assess the uptake of further testing.
