The vision for St Bede’s when it first opened remains true today and is expressed through our mission statement:

To create and sustain, with God’s help, a learning, caring and serving community where all people are valued for who they are and who they may become in the light of Jesus Christ.

Here are some of the school archives in our possession. The initial idea came out of a reunion held in memory of the school’s first Headmaster, George Kent, on the 15th October 2015 on 10th Anniversary of his death. 200+ past pupils and staff came together to pay their respects to Mr Kent organised by his son Stuart, a pupil during the 1960s, and daughter Rosie, a pupil during the 1970s.

Thanks to the hard work of Andy Ellwood, also a pupil during the 1960s, this archive has started to take shape. It is still very much work in progress. Our ultimate aim is that it will become a living history of St Bede’s Inter-Church School that will grow and develop into a resource for pupils past and present, their families and for anyone interesting in finding our more about our school. In the meantime a Facebook page has been set up, The St Bede’s Reunion.

If you have any photos, documents, stories or information about St Bede’s that you would be willing to add to the archive, then please get in touch, we would love to find out more.   Please contact us
