PTFA

Welcome to the Parents’, Teachers’ and Friends’ Association of St Bede’s Inter-Church School.

We are a friendly team of dedicated members who do what we can to work alongside the Headteacher and staff, as well as other parents, to discuss new ideas and make a positive contribution towards the life of the school.
The PTFA meets once or twice a term to discuss and organise fundraising events for the school. Our meetings are informal and friendly, and we aim to make fundraising as enjoyable as possible. Our primary aim is to raise funds to enable the school to purchase extra items to enhance the students’ learning and experience in school. In 2008 we donated nearly £6,000 to 7 curriculum areas in response to bids from staff.

PTFA volunteers also serve hot and cold refreshments and sell second-hand uniform at all school events, such as parent-teacher consultation evenings, musical evenings, the annual school play, the Carol Service, etc.

If you would like to help us by joining the PTFA you would be very welcome to come to any of our meetings. If you would prefer just to offer help serving refreshments once or twice a year we would also like to hear from you.

Don’t forget, too, that becoming involved in the PTFA is also a great way to meet other parents and staff and to feel more integrated into the community of St Bede’s.

If you would like details of our next meeting or would like to offer your help in any way, please contact John Torode by e-mail at johnboy_torode@hotmail.com or by phone via the school on 01223 568816.

Regular PTFA events include:
• The 100 Club – a chance to win in our monthly draw for just £15.00/year
• Family quiz nights – twice/year
• Chocolate bingo evening
• Pamper evenings
