Mathematics

(Click here to visit Mrs Myers Web Page)

We believe that all students have the right to leave St Bede's as positive, confident and capable mathematicians, able to communicate and use mathematics as everyday skill. We recognise that students best reach their full potential through working in a supportive atmosphere, and we strive for an environment where those who lack confidence are encouraged to ask for help and where students feel challenged.

Course descriptors for KS3 and KS4:

All students follow a course that includes a mixture of algebra, number, data and space, shape and measures. Students in KS3 follow the National Curriculum in general.  All GCSE's in Mathematics have the same content, and our students follow a scheme of work where a topic in each area is tackled in sequence, to ensure coverage and variety. The pace at which they work, and therefore the material covered, is dependent on the students' ability and motivation. The GCSE syllabus is EDEXCEL course reference: 1380
