Most monitoring of students with special educational needs takes place through the Learning Support Team: teachers and teaching assistants working across subject areas and supporting students in lessons. After liaising with teachers and assessing students, a number of individuals may have extra support in literacy, numeracy, communication skills, motor skills or confidence building. Occasionally, students are withdrawn from class to work on individual programmes.
Liaison with parents is an essential and valuable part of the team’s work. The school remains committed to increasing access to the curriculum for disabled students and our Accessibility Plan is reviewed on a regular basis.
