MFL at St Bede’s delivers French from year 7 and German from year 8 to students. We aim to provide students with core, transferable skills then enable them to cope with the rigours of studying two very different languages.
Why French and German? Simple. For those students who wish to go on to study other languages, French helps with learning Italian and Spanish, German with Russian and the Nordic languages. We don’t just want excellent results: we want a generation of languages learners that are motivated!
